Spinphase

Adm Boughton - Bass/Vox/Misc
Jeremy Morton - Drums/Vox/Misc

Spinphase: At this point it is hard to find the right words to say or the right person to be writing this.  If you've waited out the last two years, we thank you - you are truly amazing. Spinphase was started in a basement in Kirksville, Missouri in November of 2003. At that point it was Alex McKamie on Guitar and Vocals, and Jeremy Morton playing Drums and singing a little bit. Soon after, Adm Boughton was added to fill out the bass section.

Influences ranged from Taking  Back Sunday, to MXPX, to the Appleseed Cast to ... blah blah.  Songs were written. Songs were recorded ... and subsequently (accidentally) deleted. Tensions arose. The band disbanded shortly after the first and at that point, last show, on February 13, 2004, at Kimball's in Kirksville, Missouri. After the dust had settled, after the wounds had healed [insert cliche here], and after a considerable amount of time ... blah blah.

It was a night in January of 2006 when Adm and Jeremy were hanging out and decided that they wanted to be Spinphase again.  Alex was back in, but left after a while - coming back for special occasions. The music exploded back into the scene with the release of their hit single "Waffles!" On March 18th, 2006, the band made its smashing comeback appearence, opening for Jimmy Stewart and the Instruments at Barntopia in Kirksville, Missouri and their return was heralded as one of the greatest moments in Kirksville Music History.

Adm and Jeremy are currently at work on their debut EP/possibly Full-Length record to be released later this year, and tentatively titled "Why The Hell Did This Band Get Back Together?" Look for more details on this soon. For the latest updates on the new record, shows, and to listen to their hit single, "Waffles!," as well as an old tune from Spinphase Version 1.0, and possibly more music.  Check out their myspace page today! Add them as your friend, spread the word!"

Turn That Shit Off ... I wanna listen to SPINPHASE!!!"

Lately it seems those uber-hip indie music czars at Pitchfork can't help touting bands just as Kirksvillain is bringing them to town.

This time it's a stellar write-up of Bergen, Norway's Sissy Wish, who play The DuKum Upp this Saturday, March 22 (with Come to Japan).

The upshot: "She wants to dance, damnit, and she wants you dancing with her."

Advance Tickets available at Washington St. Java Co. and Vintage Grooves (the vinyl and CD shop across from the Kirksville Post Office).

Wisely, who's played a couple of great gigs here at the DuKum, is gunning for a spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

If you'd like to help, send him an e-mail with the subject line "Why Kimmel Should Book Wisely" and a message that starts something like "You should book Wisely on your show because . . ."

Send the e-mails with your name and town to wwisely [at] mac.com by midnight Tuesday (tomorrow).

Thanks in advance for your help!

The Pine Hill Haints got a great Pitchfork review for their new CD Ghost Dance and they're playing the DuKum Friday, February 29.

This'll be a hootenanny.
